If you want a practical job working outdoors and one which helps to keep vital water supplies running, then this career might suit you well.

To do this job, you’ll need to be physically fit, a good teamworker and be willing to work flexibly.

There are no set entry requirements although previous experience in road working or construction may help. You may also be able to start by doing an Apprenticeship scheme.

  •  Starting salary £12,000+ per year
