Pastoral Day

As a reward to those who made the effort to keep their attendance high, we held a very special Pastoral Day on 19th December.

Pupils and staff were invited to don their best Christmas Jumpers, hats, shoes etc. and embrace the holiday spirit!

Year 10 and Year 11 attended a production by Whitechalk on Anti-Bullying and Identity. They were treated to an interactive performance in which pupils were asked questions about bullying and asked to participate in a drama session.

We also had a visit from some very special guests. We started the afternoon with a performance by ‘Fearless Dukuman,’ also known as The Dukuman. An artist from north London, ‘The Dukuman’ emerged on the scene featuring on an N-Dubz skit called ‘Duku Man’ from their popular album, ‘Against All Odds’. The rapper also supported N-Dubz on their arena tour, as well as Dappy on his solo tour.

After ‘The Dukuman’ had performed, the students were treated to a further performance by ‘Pharella,’ a singer/songwriter, fresh out of The Brit School for Performing Arts, following in the footsteps of Adele, Jessie J, Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse. ‘Pharella’ performed her latest single ‘Stay Right Here’ along with other tracks.

Both ‘Pharella’ and ‘Fearless Dukuman’ stayed behind after their performances for a meet and greet session, which was received extremely well by our pupils who got the chance to take photographs and ask for autographs.

Pastoral Day shows students that their hard work is recognised by the school and encourages them to Aim High and Achieve their very best!
