Birmingham Mind is the largest independent mental health charity providing services in and beyond the City of Birmingham’s boundaries.

Birmingham Mind provides high quality services in a variety of settings. They provide person centred support to enable people to be in control of their lives.

Their vision is that people are in control of their lives and this aspiration emphasises the need to build upon peoples strengths underpinned at all times by a well-established recovery approach.

Hodge Hill College’s former Year 11 chose Birmingham Mind as one of their two charities to support and fundraise for.

Former Head Boy, Samee Ahmed explained his reason for choosing Birmingham Mind. ‘Mental Health and especially Mental Health in young people is becoming more common. We really felt that we should do as much as possible to raise money and awareness to try and help as many people as we can.’

Through various fundraising initiatives and activities the school’s Year 11 Prefect Team lead the way in helping to raise a magnificent total of £1105 to donate to Birmingham Mind which was handed over Rachel McNair on Wednesday 7th November 2018.

Mr Read, Former Head of Year 11 said he was immensely proud to part of a year group that cared so much for other people and wanted to make a difference in their lives.
