Duke of Edinburgh Final Assessment Weekend

The weekend of Friday 19th – Sunday 21st October 2018, saw 12 girls from Years 9, 10 and 11 successfully complete and pass their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh assessment weekend in the Peak District. The pupils got to see a vast array of beautiful countryside and even had the sun shine on them over the whole weekend. The assessor commented on the high quality camp craft skills the girls demonstrated and how well they worked together to get jobs done. The toughest part of the weekend for the group was the map navigation which improved throughout the weekend and pupils became much more aware of their surroundings and how that related to the map. All 12 pupils successfully passed the expedition assessment weekend and now need to complete the other three sections over the next few months of Physical, Skill and Volunteering to complete the whole Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

All the girls thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and went home with a big smile on their face and looking forward to a hot shower. A big well done to all of the pupils who have now passed their expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
